Refund Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
The policy is short. Try SQL Data Collector free for 14 days first. If you then buy and change your mind within 30 days of your first payment, you get your money back, no questions asked.
1. Try it free first
Every customer can run the full product free for 14 days on up to 14 servers, through the trial form on the home page. The trial is free, so there is nothing to refund on it. Please use it to decide whether the product fits before you buy. If it does not earn its place, remove it from the one host it runs on. Nothing is installed on the servers it monitors.
2. The 30-day refund on your first purchase
Your organisation's first paid licence can be refunded in full if you ask within 30 days of the payment. You do not need to give a reason. The refund covers the whole of that first payment.
3. What is not refundable
Renewals, and servers added to a licence during its term, are not refundable, except under section 5.
You can cancel at any time before your renewal date, from Manage billing next to your licence in your account when it appears there, from the link in your Paddle receipt email, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your licence keeps working until the end of the term you paid for.
About 45 days before each renewal we email you a reminder with the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel.
4. One refund per organisation
The refund in section 2 is available once per organisation, on its first paid purchase only. It is not available if a chargeback has been filed for the order, or where there is evidence of fraud or refund abuse.
5. If the software does not work
If a defect stops the software working as described, report it to us by email with enough detail for us to reproduce it. If we cannot fix it, or give you a workaround, within 30 days of your report, we will refund the unused part of your current term on request. This applies to renewals as well as to your first purchase.
6. How to request a refund
Either of these works.
- Email contact@alertlinktech.com and mention the email address the order was placed under.
- Contact Paddle, who processed your payment, and ask them to refund the order.
7. Payment processing
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
For questions about the software itself, contact AlertLink Technologies at contact@alertlinktech.com.
8. How the refund is paid
Refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. Once Paddle has sent it, how quickly the money appears on your statement depends on your card issuer or bank.
9. How licence keys work around the refund window
Each licence key is signed for one machine and carries a fixed expiry date. Because a key cannot be taken back once it is issued, your first purchase comes with two keys.
- Your first key is issued within one business day of your key request and is valid for 40 days. It covers the refund window.
- Your full-term key appears under Licence keys in your account on day 31 after your payment, once the refund window has closed, and we email you when it is there. Paste it into Response key on the app's Licence page before your first key expires. You do not need a new challenge code.
A full-term key runs to the end of the term you paid for plus 30 days, so a renewal never interrupts monitoring.
When you renew, we issue a renewal key for the same machine. It appears in your account 14 days after the renewal payment, and we email you. Paste it in the same way. It runs to the end of the new term plus 30 days. Your current key's extra 30 days cover the time in between.
The next key is held while a refund or a chargeback on the order is open, and after a refund, including a partial refund. If the payment is refunded in full or charged back, the key is not issued. After a partial refund, whether the key is released is at AlertLink's discretion, and we contact you about it.
10. After a refund
A refund of a purchase or a renewal ends the licence it paid for. This includes a refund that Paddle makes itself. Within 10 days, remove the licence key, uninstall the software from its host, and confirm by email to contact@alertlinktech.com that you have done so. The End-User License Agreement (section 4, Term and Termination) requires this. Keys carry an expiry date and cannot be revoked remotely, which is why we rely on you to do it.
11. Businesses, and your legal rights
SQL Data Collector licences are sold to businesses, for use in their trade or profession, not to consumers. If the law where you are gives you rights this policy does not, those rights still apply.
