Terms of Service
Last updated: September 29, 2026
These terms cover the use of this website and its customer accounts, the free trial and early-access programme, and the purchase of SQL Data Collector licences. They are written in plain language on purpose. Use of the software itself is governed by the End-User License Agreement, which is reproduced at /eula.html.
1. Who we are
This website, sqldatacollector.com, and the SQL Data Collector software are provided by AlertLink Technologies LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company (“AlertLink Technologies”, “we”, “us”). For anything to do with these terms, a trial, a licence, or an invoice, email contact@alertlinktech.com. Our mailing address is AlertLink Technologies LLC, PO Box F, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464, USA.
By using this site, requesting a trial, or buying a licence, you agree to these terms. If you are acting for a company, you confirm that you are allowed to agree on its behalf.
2. Using this website
You may browse this site, use the request form for its purpose, which is asking for a trial of SQL Data Collector or a place in the early-access programme, and use your customer account (section 3). In return we ask a few things.
- Give accurate details on the form. We use them to send the installer link and to follow up, so a wrong email address means no link.
- Do not interfere with the site, the form or the account area, probe them for weaknesses, or send requests with automated tools.
- The text, screenshots, video, and documentation on this site belong to AlertLink Technologies. You may read them, link to them, and quote short passages. Please do not copy them for redistribution without asking.
We keep the site as accurate as we can, but we do not promise that it is free of mistakes or always available. Product details shown here, including the version, features, and prices, may change over time.
3. Your account
When you request a trial, enter your email address in the checkout, or buy a licence, we create a customer account for the email address you used on the form or at checkout. In the account you can see your licences, get installer download links, request and copy licence keys, add servers to a licence, open Paddle's billing portal when it is available (section 6), and edit your name and company. To change the email address on the account, email us. The Privacy Policy explains what the account stores.
Licences are sold to businesses, for use in their trade or profession, not to consumers. By buying a licence you confirm that you are buying for a business.
- Sign-in works by emailed link, and there is no password. You enter your email address at /account/login.php and we send a link that works once, for 15 minutes. Anyone who can read that mailbox can sign in to your account, so keep access to it secure, and tell us promptly if you lose control of it.
- Activity under a signed-in session, such as requesting a licence key, adding servers or changing your details, is treated as yours. A session stays signed in on that browser for up to 30 days after you last use it, so sign out on shared computers.
- Download links, sign-in links and licence keys are for you. A download link works for anyone who has it until it expires or is used up, so do not share it.
- AlertLink Technologies may suspend access to the account area for misuse, for example attacking the site, trying to reach another customer's account, or sharing download links.
4. Trials and early access
Every purchase can start with a free 14-day trial. The trial has every feature enabled and covers up to 14 monitored SQL Server instances. To request it, fill in the form on the home page. The installer is not a public download: AlertLink Technologies reviews each request within one business day, and when it approves one you receive an email with a private download link that works 5 times within 14 days. Later you can sign in to your account at /account/login.php with the same email address to get a fresh link.
SQL Data Collector is a new product. It has been tested in a handful of large SQL Server environments and is sold under an early-access programme. Places are limited, and early access ends at general release. Early-access members get the discount described in section 5, and in return we ask them to run the software in a real estate and tell us what breaks and what is missing.
Feedback is asked for, and it shapes what we build next, but it is not a condition of the licence. During the trial and afterwards, the software is provided under the End-User License Agreement, including its warranty disclaimer and liability cap.
The trial is free. If you decide not to continue, remove the software from the one host it runs on. Nothing is ever installed on the servers it monitors.
5. Buying a licence
Licences are annual: each runs for 12 months. They are issued per install, which means a key is locked to the machine that runs the collector, and each key covers up to the number of monitored SQL Server instances you purchased. To monitor more servers than your key covers, you need a licence that covers them; you can add servers to an existing licence from your account (see Adding servers, below).
Pricing is per monitored SQL Server instance, per year, in US dollars, in three bands. The band your order falls in sets the price for every server in the order.
| Monitored servers | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 to 10 servers | $190 per server per year |
| 11 to 50 servers | $140 per server per year |
| 51 to 200 servers | $95 per server per year |
| More than 200 servers | Contact us |
Worked examples: 8 servers cost $1,520 per year, 30 servers cost $4,200 per year, and 120 servers cost $11,400 per year.
Early-access discount
Early-access customers get 40% off the first year's licence. Renewals are 20% off the list price for as long as the subscription continues without a lapse. For example, 8 servers cost $912 in year one and then $1,216 per year; 30 servers cost $2,520 and then $3,360; 120 servers cost $6,840 and then $9,120. If a subscription lapses, the renewal discount ends with it.
Prices and taxes
All prices are in US dollars. We may change prices for future licence terms. A change never affects a term you have already paid for. Any tax due on your order is handled by Paddle, our payment provider (section 6).
How a purchase works
- Start with the free trial if you want one, requested through the form on the home page.
- Buy the licence through the online checkout on the pricing page. Purchases are processed by Paddle as merchant of record.
- After payment, sign in to your account at /account/login.php with the email address you used at checkout; the order can take a minute to appear. If the software is not installed yet, download the installer from your account.
- In the app, open the Licence page, copy the challenge code, and paste it into Licence keys in your account. AlertLink Technologies then issues your first licence key within one business day. Key delivery is not automated, so a person handles each one.
- Paste the key into Response key on the app's Licence page.
- On day 31 after your payment, your full-term key appears in your account and we email you. Paste it into Response key in the same way, before the first key expires.
Licence keys are delivered through your account and by email. Your first purchase comes with two keys. The first key is valid for 40 days and covers the refund window. On day 31 after your payment, once the refund window has closed, your full-term key appears in your account and we email you; paste it into Response key on the app's Licence page before the first key expires, with no new challenge code needed. A full-term key runs to the end of your paid term plus 30 days. After each renewal payment, a renewal key for the same machine appears in your account 14 days after the payment and runs to the end of the new term plus 30 days. The next key is held while a refund or chargeback on the order is open, and after a refund, including a partial refund; after a partial refund it is released at AlertLink Technologies' discretion. Keys carry an expiry date and cannot be revoked remotely. If a licence is refunded or terminated, you must stop using the software, remove the key, uninstall the software, and confirm this by email within 10 days.
Adding servers
You can add servers to a licence during its term from your account. The new total sets the price band for every server on the licence. Paddle bills the difference for the rest of that term, or credits it toward your next renewal when the new price band makes the total lower. Renewals then bill the new total. When the change can be applied from your account, Paddle applies it when you confirm and charges the payment method it holds for any amount due; if that payment fails, nothing changes. Otherwise your request is recorded and AlertLink Technologies sends you a Paddle invoice, or arranges a credit, for the difference. Either way, your current key keeps its old server limit, so once the change goes through, request a new key from your account. To reduce the number of servers, or to go above 200, email us.
6. Payment processing
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
For questions about the software itself, contact AlertLink Technologies. Paddle's own terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout, and Paddle collects your payment details. AlertLink Technologies never sees your card number. Receipts and invoices come from Paddle. Manage billing, when it appears next to your licence in your account, opens Paddle's customer portal, where you can see your invoices, update your payment method, or cancel. Otherwise, use the links in your Paddle receipt email, or email contact@alertlinktech.com.
7. Refunds
Your organisation's first paid licence can be refunded in full within 30 days of the payment, once per organisation, no questions asked. Renewals, and servers added to a licence during its term, are not refundable; you can cancel at any time before the renewal date and keep using the licence until the end of the paid term. About 45 days before each renewal we email you a reminder with how to cancel. If a documented defect stops the software working as described and we cannot fix it or give you a workaround within 30 days of your report, we refund the unused part of the current term, renewals included. Ask for a refund by emailing contact@alertlinktech.com or through Paddle. The refund goes back to the original payment method. The trial is free, so there is nothing to refund on it. After a refund you must remove the licence key, uninstall the software, and confirm this by email within 10 days. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded still apply. The full policy is at /refunds.html.
8. The software licence
Your use of SQL Data Collector is governed by the End-User License Agreement shown by the installer, reproduced at /eula.html. In short, it grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software for your internal business purposes, for the term and up to the number of monitored servers authorised by your key. It does not allow reverse engineering, redistribution, or tampering with the licence key or integrity checks. The software is licensed, not sold. When a licence is refunded or terminated, you must uninstall the software and certify this to us in writing within 10 days. On reasonable notice, and no more than once a year, you must give us a written report of the hosts on which the software is installed and the number of servers it monitors.
If these terms and the EULA say different things about the software, the EULA wins.
9. Support and updates
Licensed customers and early-access members get best-effort support by email at contact@alertlinktech.com. We reply from a real inbox, but we do not guarantee response times, and we cannot promise a fix for every issue.
Updates are announced through the software's signed update notice. Once a day each install fetches a signed update manifest over HTTPS; the request is anonymous and identifies neither you nor your estate. Version 7.14.0.0 and later fetch it from https://sqldatacollector.com/updates/sqldatacollector.json. Earlier builds were set to an older address that does not serve the file, so they show no update notice; installing 7.14.0.0 or later moves an install to the new address. When the manifest lists a newer release, the app shows a notice; if the file cannot be fetched, the app shows nothing, so you can also check this site for new releases. You can switch the check off in the app's settings. Installing an update is your decision. Updates are provided under the EULA unless they come with separate terms.
10. Warranties and liability
SQL Data Collector is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. That includes the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you are responsible for keeping proper backups of your own data and systems.
To the fullest extent the law allows, AlertLink Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of this website, a purchase, or the software, even if we were told such damage was possible. Our total liability to you, for everything together, is capped at the amount you paid us for the software in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
This section mirrors sections 6 and 7 of the EULA in plain words. For the software, the EULA's wording controls. The same disclaimer and cap apply to this website and to the free trial.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at this address with the date at the top, and it applies from that date. A change does not alter the price or length of a licence term you have already paid for. If you keep using the site or buy a licence after a change, you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
